About

The Common End, formed by Chris Joyce and Michael Kivi, is a duo rooted in the traditions of folk and rock music, drawing inspiration from The Beatles, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Grateful Dead and many others. Humble in their approach, they focus on crafting songs rich in harmony and melody, with lyrics that speak to life, death and everything in-between.

Originating from Boston in 2007, The Common End initially performed alongside a rotating lineup of bass players and drummers, before evolving into an acoustic duo.  Their debut album, Sitting in the Eye, released in 2024, blends their acoustic foundation with intricate layers of instrumentation, including keyboards, percussion, bass, and guitars, crafted by Chris and Mike.
